recommends that you study your owner's manual and use the following tips

your tire pressure and alignment.
- Change
your oil and filter.
- Keep
the engine tuned up.
- Check
your emission control devices.
- Service
your engine promptly when warning light appears.
- Always
refer to the owner's manual and use the oil and fuel recommended by
the manufacturer.
- Change
your oil filter.
- Inspect
hoses, wiring and belts.
- Check
crankcase breather elements.
Ask
for a Pre-Inspection Test
If you are
unsure whether your vehicle will pass its Smog Check, ask your licensed
Smog Check technician to perform a pre-inspection test on your vehicle.
A pre-inspection could diagnose any potential emissions-related problems,
enabling you to make necessary repairs before the vehicle undergoes an
official Smog Check inspection. This option could save you time and money
by streamlining the Smog Check certification process.
